Food.Fashion. Music. — Olive Oil Cake
Last night, I was craving a slice of this:

Olive Oil Cake from L’Artusi.
This cake is a single wedge of incredible goodness. If the word ‘olive oil’ scares you … it shouldn’t. Why? Because you are essentially eating pound cake that is topped with powdered sugar and is baked to golden perfection. On the side, comes the perfect complimentary flavors: raisin marmelatta with vino santo and a beautiful and GENEROUS scoop of creme fraiche mousse.
L’Artusi has quickly become one of my favorite spots in the New York City. My boyfriend and I have had countless dinners there and we have never been disappointed.
The way to dine at L’Artusi: Go early (6:30), sit at the bar. Order a bottle of wine (or in our case, white Lambrusco). Ice it. Order the homemade ricotta with buttermilk crackers. Skip the main dishes, maybe order a salad to share. But order two pastas (their pastas are to die for) and order two desserts and order the camomile grappa to cleanse the palate.
